WALNUT BROWNIES

                                                        Walnut Brownies

INGREDIENTS

  • Walnut meal (purchased or ground in a food processor)- 1/2 cup
  • Dutch process cocoa powder - 1/4th cup
  • Baking powder - 3/4 teaspoons
  • Baking soda - 3/4teaspoons 
  • Sea salt - 1/4th teaspoons
  • Eggs - 1(room temperature)
  • Coconut milk - 1/2 cup
  • Honey or maple syrup - 1/4 cup
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Coconut oil - 2 1/2 tablespoons
  • Chopped walnuts for topping - 2 tablespoons
  • Butter for greasing the pan

METHOD

  • In a medium bowl, mix together the dry ingredients until well blended. Set aside.




  • Preheat your oven to 350 degree F
  • In a small bowl, whisk eggs for one minute, add coconut milk, honey or maple syrup and whisk again. Add melted coconut oil and whisk until the ingredients are blended again.
  • Add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients and whisk well.
  • Butter the baking pan.
  • Pour the batter into your baking pan.
  • Sprinkle walnut on top of batter.
  • Bake for 20 to 22 minutes.
  • Cool completely before cutting.
